What's With The Awful Audio on ABC Sunday Morning?

I'm currently watching ABC in Phoenix OTA and hearing audio of the IRL race sounding like the two booth announcers are doing it from a rest room trackside. Commercials and local spots are normal.

Are there no engineers on duty at ABC today? It is now over one hour into the broadcast and still really lousy audio.

I was watching the same station last night (KNXV for those unfamiliar with the market), and the audio during the repeat of "Dancing with the Stars" also didn't sound right.

Was it that awful 'chaffing' sound? ;D

It's fine here in Nashville at 1:20pm CDT.

My guess is there's a surround-sound issue at KNXV & you're hearing the left/right surround channels instead of a mix including the center dialog channel. (is the "natural sound" -- the sound of the cars -- normal?)

Background noise sounds normal and now main sound also seems normal. Engineer must have been in church. ;)

My mistake. Foreground sound still not normal. Does sound better than at beginning of broadcast however.
