What's with the NFL playing on Christmas Eve/Day?

That's correct. The NFL shifts the games to Saturday with the exception of a few. It's curious that the NFL has a "Flex" scheduling policy for Sunday Night games. They try to get a more compelling game in prime time. The 3 Christmas day games this year turned out to duds. GREEN BAY vs MIAMI
DENVER vs LA RAMS and TAMPA vs ÀRIZONA
Those looked like decent choices when the schedule was made, but only Miami has a winning record at 8-6.

People can drink their Egg Nog and sleep through these games...
The Christmas Day games were not allowed to be flexed out

When people claim that somehow this time of year means one thing and only one thing and has since "day one" (in this case the birth of Christ, allegedly), then no, history is not irrelevant, and it is not "may" belong in part. It is abundantly clear what the history is. Good, bad, indifferent or some combination thereof, it is the reality. There is also a remarkable overlap between those who pretend it never happened and who take offense to phrases like "happy holidays" and have "Keep Christ in Christmas" stickers adorning their cars. (Never mind the irony that "holiday" is a derivation of "holy day.")

Context and history do matter in this world. The history of any religion matters and shouldn't be forgotten. Since this is focused heavily on Christmas, the Christian church, myself included, do not just get to pretend the atrocities committed in the name of religion over the years happened just because they were long ago, either. Things can and do evolve and change, at least hopefully for the better, but to whitewash and ignore the truth of the past? Nope. Not having that.

Yes, I know. NFL junkies will just have to take what's given. The entire country gets Detroit and Dallas every Thanksgiving whether they want it or not. Since more people seem to care about Player Fantasy Stats anyway, the match ups don't really matter...

I would of gave ESPN also a Game today same with NBC.
What time slots would you "of gave" those games? Both of those networks' deals include exclusivity: NBC on Sunday night, ESPN on Monday night. Moving those games to tonight (Saturday) would require creating an exclusive time slot for both. 10 a.m. Eastern for one, 11:30 p.m. Eastern for the other? Don't think so!

Eh so? Personally I’m looking forward to watching the Christmas Day game between the Broncos and Chargers on Nickelodeon. Of course Denver will have to actually score to get slimed 😅
Denver vs Los Angeles should be considered "child abuse" 🤣 Watch the final score be all field goals!

*Also, it's the Rams, not the Chargers.

No would of put part of their deals both also Saturday's to when CBS/FOX has a Game to besides NFL Network and Amazon Prime to on Sundays that Weekend. ESPN maybe also Black Friday to.

Green Bay-Miami was a good, tight game, and the result further muddies the AFC playoff picture. The best I can say for the second game was ... hmmm, give me time on that. Bucs-Cards is off to a dreary 3-3 start and given these teams' injury problems and recent performances, things aren't likely to improve.

Sports on Christmas is a good thing I watched mostly NFL games did watch some NBA action 5PM Celtics VS Bucks & Suns VS Nuggets which went to OT. Why doesn't NHL play on Christmas?

Because there’s little to no benefit? The once-in-a-few-years scheduling quirk that gives NFL action is its own little thing. But the NBA has generally come to dominate the day. The NHL certainly has to compete through their overlapping seasons, but there’s just not going to be a good return on the ad revenue side to challenge on Christmas itself.
