What's with WAMD?

Yes. They're doing an Oldies format now.

Sorry to hear that news. I miss getting to hear acts like Fleetwood Mac on AM again. Looks like 'AMD has lost me as a regular listener, sorry, 970.

BTW did WAMD do any stunting before the flip? Like play a bunch of silly Christmas songs? WTDK Federalsburg, MD did that in 1997 when they went from '70s to '50s/'60s.

I am not a steady WAMD listener, as I work in Philly. But I'll catch it at least once a week on the way home to Delaware and on weekends.

I have never noticed them doing anything other than oldies. Maybe some 70's thrown in, but what they are doing now is no radical change.

What WAS radical was for a few weeks they would play one regular oldie then an obscure R&B oldie. It was like 50-50 of each. Never could figure that one out.

I thought I heard WAMD was on the block (at one time thru BuySellRadio, IIRC) and, since no one bit, they were gonna turn in the license. Did I hear wrong or did some other company buy them at the 11th hour?<P ID="signature">______________
