What's with WCBS-FM's audio?

I felt that after WCBS-FM returned to the oldies format that their audio processing was one of the best sounds in the city. Now, I feel that the station has lost so much of its "punch." It sounds quite flat, and as much as I have complained about WLTW's audio more recently, I feel that even 106.7 has more "punch" and a better sound than CBS-FM. I cannot fathom why a classic hits station would employ this type of audio processing - when WMGQ, WWFS, and WLTW (all listen-at-work stations, expected to be fairly light on the processing) are not as flat as WCBS-FM.

This time, I doubt it's my ears. The station doesn't sound the same as it did last year, or even earlier this year for that matter. Have others noticed the difference as well? When you turn it up in the car, you just can't feel the beat as well as you used to. Oh, well.

Nevertheless, the programming on 101.1 is still stellar, and I cannot wait to hear Al Bernstein back on the NYC airwaves on CBS-FM this Sunday night. It should be a treat for all.
