What's with WTIC 1080?

I know I complain a lot and maybe I should email Infinity about this, but I really don't want to.

What the hell is going on with WTIC AM 1080? They seem to have a lot of problems with their night-time programming.

A couple weeks ago I was listening to Clark Howard which they air on a delayed basis 7PM-10PM (the show airs live on Jones/Cox 1PM-4PM) and they replaced Clark's last segment with a commercial break that eneded up being a total of 11 minutes. Clark said "It's :49 after the hour and you're listening to the Clark Howard Show." Commercials began. I expected Clark to come back on at about :54 after, but instead commercials continued straight until the top of the hour. When they did the ID and went into the local news.

Also a couple weeks ago I was listening to the Dream Doctor and it started out as a new show. But when they came back from their commercial break at :22 after the hour it switched to a show that had been on a few days earlier. After the 10:30 news update the show went back to a new one.

Then tonight I'm listening to Clark Howard. I listened 7:30PM-9PM. I watched Rachel Ray on The Food Network 9PM-9:30 and flipped Clark Howard back on and it's the same exact thing I heard 7:30PM-8:00PM.

What gives?

And more

About an hour and 7 minutes after I posted this message last night WTIC began the 11PM hour of The Dream Doctor. It was the same 11PM hour as the night before. Damn!

Sounds to me like they are having some serious problems with their automation! I know that there are certain circumstances which can cause my system to miss a recording, and what would happen is that you will end up with a replay of the previous day's program. When you're "tape-delaying" a talk show, normally the automation records it in blocks. If it missed one of those blocks, the effect would be just what you're describing... hearing a portion of yesterday's show embedded in the middle of today's.

Automation hiccups can also cause a portion of a log to be repeated. Based on personal experience, 99.5% of these issues are human error factors. Someone may have been making adjustments, and ended up messing something up. Computers are funny that way: They will do EXACTLY what you PROGRAMMED them to do, not what you WANTED them to do. ;)
