Whats wrong with Paris and East Texas Radio?

Why can't East Texas Radio company hold on to a morning show on KOYN? I moved here a year ago when I retired and since then they have changed the show two or three times. I was listening to their station this morning and Shawn and Aimee wasn't on. Then this evening, I saw this posted on the facebook page.

East Texas Broadcasting is sorry to see Shawn and Aimee move back to New Mexico to be with the rest of their family. We are sorry to see them go but wish them the best with their move back. We hope you stay friends of KOYN KOUNTRY as we have some great things coming up this spring on 93.9 KOYN!

Fired or quit? Didn't they just get here a while ago. I like the music okay, but I just wonder why they keep changing things.

David,
I work for East Texas Broadcasting, and I am not responding to your post in any official capacity. I'm just an employee who worked with Shawn & Aimee. Two great people btw.

To answer your question...There is nothing "wrong" with East Texas Broadcasting.
This is radio, and anyone who has a lot of time in the business knows that sometimes radio stations make changes in format, personalities, management...it's just part of the business of radio.
Late last year our Paris market had to make some changes....
We dropped the DC & Family program and added a live morning show on 101.9 KBUS,
a new morning show jumped on board on Mix 107.7,
and Shawn And Aimee joined KOYN as our Todays Best Country Morning Show.

They were doing a great job and listeners really responded to them. In a short time, their Facebook page had over 2000 fans!
But...moving so far from home can be rough when you have a large family...and though I believe it isn't prudent to say exactly what the problem was...I can say there was a family member who became seriously ill...and they HAD to move home to care for that person.
We wish them nothing bet the best and ask that you remember their family in your prayers.

Now...for those of you in radio...if you believe you can do the job as the new morning show for KOYN in Paris. Great. Time to step up. You can send a demo and resume' to our Operations Manager via e-mail to [email protected]

Just a quick update on East Texas Radio in Paris and a new addition to the 93.3 KOYN-FM lineup. Everyone at East Texas Broadcasting would like to welcome John Paul to KOYN as our new morning host. :D <applause>

John brings a wealth of experience to the group. We know he's going to do a great job.
In East Texas you can catch John from 6-9 weekdays on Todays Best Country 93.3 KOYN-FM!

We wish him great success!
