Whats Wrong with Philadelphia Radio

Number one its the same old crap noone who is in charge wants to change the talent for example Mike Miss who just goes from one station to another how about some younger talent like Jason who hosts on Wip Saturday nights a very talented guy in my opinion. Second its all about money not the audience what I try to do as Pd of an internet station is put out fun radio/tv for people to be informed and enjoy with wall to wall Philly sports coverage sorry this is not to promote just a fact of life .

1. Why are you posting when you said you were no longer going to post on R-I?

Problem is the 3 rockers are so stale and safe... instead of 1045 playing stuff like Tokio Hotel, Hot Hot Heat, Seven Mary Three-Waters Edge, Adam Ant-Desperate but not serious, Avenged Sevenfold which fits alternative radio, more Pistols, 30 seconds to mars, Damned, Atreyu, Phantom Planet, something other than Misery Business from Paramore, what we do hear is BNL, G-Barkley oy vey, Jack Johnson and RATM every F'N hour. For the other two so called rockers where the hell is Cinderella, Y&T, TS, Priest, Motorhead, Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Dark Fortress, Wasp, instead we hear the constant stale, GnR, VH and the token metal cut once in a blue moon, oh yeh and the RATM crap every F'N hour. Why the hell don't these 3 outlets move in different directions and be unique for the individual listener that enjoys their certain brand of rock, instead of all trying to sound alike....There are thousands of titles and bands I could of used but I just used a few to make a point.....
 
the only active rockers that compare to MMR and YSP, are 107.1 the bone in allentown, and 105.7 the x in the hershey area. maybe 97.9 the x in hazleton. 95.9 the rat on hte jersey shore aint bad either.
 
I think Mikey's just bitter that Eskin hung up on him today right as he was about to promote his little Internet channel there.

"What do you think about Internet radio, Howard?"
"Oh, Internet radio is good, WIP streams on the Internet. Next caller, you're on WIP..."

No audience=no money. They're two sides of the same coin. It's hardly good business to invest in something without making a return on your investment.

What you're doing, though, is essentially a hobby, and if you can't see the huge difference between that and running a real business, there's no real point in trying to explain it.
 
What it all gets down to as far as the topic of this board.....It's should be changed to "What's wrong with Mike Phillips".

It makes you wonder if he's for real. I get more knowledge from watching the Jerry Springer show then this internet project. It should be sloganed.....Dumming Down Radio.

Dont worry about Jason, he is APD at WIP. Second WPEN needs names, thats why they hired Mike. Mike needs a sidekick though.
