What's wrong with WGST?

Yes, I know, this topic writes its own responses... ;D

Seriously, I was listening to WGST the other morning (it was my turn) and the signal seemed much worse than it had been, around 9 AM. What's up with that?

My daughter reported that Radio Disney was coming in just fine, and at a full 12kW.

Obviously, WSB had no problems.

There is nothing wrong with WGST from a programming or technical point in the eyes of Melissa Forrest and Scott Lindy. They don't care and neither should you.

Since next to no one listens, why waste the electricity powering up?

"WGST is the first Southern station to be credited with having broadcast a musical program which listeners in England picked up and enjoyed."- The Atlanta Constitution. That was in 1925. I doubt it will ever happen again.

Remarkable since, in 1925, WGST was actually on AM 1110! And WBT was on the air by then, though it would become a blowtorch only a few years later.
