What's wrong with WSJT 98.7 Tampa?

Just checked out their site..they do play a lot of interesting instrumentals. I could live without ever hearing "Sexual Healing" but they don't do a lot of burnt vocals. Their midday guy used to work for an oldies station in our cluster and the afternoon guy used to do a late night quiet storm at the A/C station I worked for. He was one of those guys with a real deep voice.

According to Carol Archer's new column Jhani Kaye is now consulting WSJT which is not a BA SJN affiliate any longer...the A/C field is pretty crowded in that area but then again the demographic is really high so it should be interesting..going head 2 head with The Dove? EZ Listening for people who don't want to hear Bread and Air Supply

Boz Scaggs - Lowdown
Steve Oliver - High Noon
Billy Ocean - Caribbean Queen
Alicia Keys - If I Ain't Got You
Michael Jackson - You Are Not Alone
Lisa Stansfield - All Around The World
Marvin Gaye - Got To Give It Up
Ne Yo - Because of You
AWB - Pick Up The Pieces
Norah Jones - Don't Know Why

The last time I heard WSJT it sounded more like Urban A/C than Smooth anything.

Thank heavens for WATERCOLORS.

Watercolors is better than nothing but they are still very 1997 with the whole relaxation thing and pretty conservative in terms of what they play. Much better music on the internet stations and you don't have to buy equipment or pay for it (although you can always donate to your favorite stations to support them).

It's been reported that...

CBS Radio downsized 15-year station vet Kathy Curtis from Smooth Jazz WSJT. Curtis, who doubled as MD/morning personality, can be reached at 727-492-5284 or [email protected].

...She was still on the website as of this morning (3/31-7am).

I have a question about Kathy, has been picked up by any other station? I believe (from what I read here on the forums) once a station let's someone go or gets fired, they usually have to wait for a certain amount time before going to work for another station. Just wondering if she's back on the airwaves. :)

There is usually a noncompete that you can't work in the market for a specified amount of time usually 3-12 months but you can get a job somewhere else anytime. Thing is how many stations use live people?

Thanks for the information AnotherCat. That's what I thought.
