What's WTN's actual lineup?

The lineup on WTN isn't, and hasn't been for some time, what their website says. O'Reilly seems to be permanently missing from 10p-12m. Did they put his full two hours on the day? Valentine and Savage are running later than they used to. Does Phil start later or did he get an extra hour? I don't know how anyone can listen to Savage very long without wanting to just give up living on this planet. The guy is so miserable he makes me miserable and depressed listening to him.

It seems Valentine is on from 4 to 8 p.m. and Savage is on from 8 to 11 p.m. and then Bortz is on from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.. O'Reilly seems to be on only during the live noon to 1 hour. It also appears they stopped playing with news in the morning and defaulted to Laura Ingrahm.

I'm with you on Savage. While he's right on a lot of issues, he's such a downer, it's like he's down in the lowest basement digging holes.

No, they're still doing the "Nashville morning news" until 8, then Laura comes on 8 til 9, when Liddy begins.
Re: Savage, how often is it that one finds it this hard to listen to someone you generally agree with?
As for that morning news, I actually kind of like it. Maybe it's just the relief of not having someone's one-sided opinion spewed constantly, but then I've always wished the market had a real news station, by that I mean a station you could always tune in to for News as opposed to Opinion/Talk. Not holding my breath for it, though.

WTN will be going live and local with an out of market talent. The guy they have pegged to come in is good and should really inject some life into the morning there. If only he had a better show following him than "Redstag" Liddy.

Jetfli is right about Savage. Reading his book is sort of the same. A friend loaned it to me. Whether you agree or not with
his views, they hit you hard over and over -- either you really agree or really don't--- it's like being in the ring for three
hours. Whether you win or loose, you're still exhausted, remember and learn from the experience and decide whether you
have what it takes to climb back in the ring. I don't think you laugh as much in the ring, though. Hmm!

Liddy's seen his best days. He needs to go ahead and retire.

All the above came be said for Dave Ramsey. Funny how he is even so controversial and loved or not. How could anyone
really argue with being debt-free and having more money to enjoy??? But, they do. Some of the feedback info I saw a
few years ago was most extreme.

Just proves anyone with an opinion is subject to pure hatred. And a little love. Ratings on.

The main problem with Ramsey is that it you listen to him for a week or two, you've heard about all he has to offer. His "schtick" has only so much staying power. His show is the same thing over and over again, the only thing that changes are the names of the callers. It has become just a forum for Dave to promote his personal apearances, and his books. On another note, one of his close relatives who lives in Memphis says that he is a bogus as a three dollar bill.

His "schtick" has only so much staying power.

"Will all the other talk show hosts in this market that can beat Hannity or Rush please stand. Thank you Mr. Ramsey...anyone else? Anyone? Anyone?"

Book in and book out Dave Ramsey continues to be the number one rated talk show in this market. Plaster can't beat him. Rush can't beat him. Hannity can't beat him. Phil and Gill's numbers are no match either.

His show is the same thing over and over again

Maybe a better way of looking at "the same thing over and over" is by saying he is consistent.

On another note, one of his close relatives who lives in Memphis says that he is a bogus as a three dollar bill.

As for him being bogus? I have many friends who work closely with Dave and they have nothing but positive things to say about the way he runs his company and his personal life. They say time and time again how he really does practice what he preaches.

Any other thoughts Ms. Ramsey?

"Jealous, party of one. Jealous. Your table is now ready. Do you mind sitting next to Steve Gill?"

Listen I don't have a dog in this fight. I just call them like I see them. Personally I can't remember the last time I even tuned in to listen to his show on WTN...but lot's of people in this market seem to every day.

You can't remember the last time you tuned into his show, yet you dispute what I say about it.......are you some kind of consultant or something?

Personally, I don't care for Dave Ramsey, but I know a lot of people who do. I've heard a lot of negative things about him from people who know him personally and /or professionally, but I've heard just as much positive feedback about him from other people.
As far as his show goes, if you've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times, but isn't that the same way with every other financial advise show on the radio, as well as most political/topic based and sports talk show on the radio.

My favorite media types for money advice are Jean Chatzky, Clark Howard and Harry Gross. Unfortunately, none of them are well-known in these parts.

Really? Has Ramsey ever bothered to use of any of the millions he's earned to repay those people he stiffed when he took bankruptcy in the 80's? Nothing hypocritical about that.
