The personal one I create with mp3 player.

There's no sports radio affiliate in the rural town I live in, and satellite radio is just too much of a luxury IMO. So I'm glad that the sports radio nets have been good about providing podcasts. ESPN Radio gives you daily highlights of its network shows, but I actually like some of their original shows better: "Football Today", "NBA Today", "Fantasy Focus", and "The BS Report with Bill Simmons" are must grabs IMO. Sporting News Radio will let you grab entire network shows, or just a few select segments. And Fox Sports Radio must have recently stepped up their efforts, as I never noticed the podcasts they currently offer.

Almost like he's doing it on purpose, no?

I have no particular favorite, but I used to love XTRA Sports 690 in southern California until Clear Channel ruined it and made it an L.A.-based super-station with AM 1150, when they were carrying the sports format.

My favorite sports station is KNBR 680 in San Francisco.

This is where I got my start as a sports talk radio caller back in June of 1997.

I created the "Bowler Bob in Brisbane" handle for uniqueness, and because I am a league bowler who loves the Giants & the 49'ers.

At one point a few years back I had experimented with calling other sports talk radio stations around the country, but have since reeled it back in to be exclusively on KNBR 680.

I listren to The Herd on ESPN Radio on XM-140 I can't stand Fox Sports Radio (blah blah blah on FSR ESPN give me the right sports.

I've always felt, for the most part, WFAN did it the right way.

A wall-to-wall lineup of local hosts and play-by-play contracts.

Hard working reporters who break news.

Hosts who are engaging but oh, so entertaining.

The invention of the 20-20 update.

Embracing, rather than ridiculing, the caller.

Knowledgable talent.

WFAN has always been the gold standard for me. While I think the criticisms of the current morning show for being "dirty" are legitimate, and Mike Francessa does have a rather favorable opinion of himself, I still don't see this as a corruption of the entire product.

I remember that station...Rome, Mason & Ireland, Loose Cannons, Hacksaw. I was new to talk radio back then, but ever since, I have not found an all-day lineup like that one.

As of today, I prefer 710 here in L.A. but switch back-and-forth to 570, depending on who is going to commercial.

I just recently started listening to sports talk radio, WWTX 1290 The Ticket, Wilmington DE. They air Fox Sports Radio, The Jim Rome Show from Premiere Radio Network, and a local sports talk show each weekday afternoon 3pm-6pm. It's a great change of pace from listening to political talk all day.
