my favoriteurban ac radio stations is
1 v103 chicago herb kent
2 kjlh los angles stevie wonder station slamming
3 krnb good urban ac station
4 kyld new orleans good rb station

The call letters in New Orleans are WYLD, not KYLD, that's in San Francisco as Wild 94.9. As far as favorite Urban AC's, I'd have to say WHUR-Washington,D.C. and WDAS-FM/Philadelphia.

-----R.I.P.---------
WILD-AM 1090 Boston
Majic 107 Phoenix
740 WCAS Boston
WAAA Winston-Salem NC
----Here Some of my Favorite Urban A/C-----
WYBC New Haven CT
98.7 Kiss FM New York
WHUR Washington D.C
KJLH LA

On WILD 94.9 in San Fransisco, there is a radio announcer who is on weekday afternoons "St John"
I remember back in the day 1987, he was on KISS 108 here in Boston as well as KISS 95.7 in Hartford, CT
Back then when he was on KISS 108, that cat used to play some BANGING!!!!!!! remixes. Back then, he went by "Jeff Saint John"
Now, he is known as "Saint John" He's on weekdays 2pm-6pm (5pm Eastern Time) He's still the same playing some BANGING Remixes.

My faverite Urban AC stations are
-KISS 104.1 Atlanta, Ga. I listen to them Saturday into Sunday Morning 1am-3am. At that time, they have a Syndicated Radio Show from Superadio Network called "Lost In The 80s" That is the BEST!!!! R&B show I heard thuss far these days.
-ZTwins 1680am from Seattle, Washington (ZTwins.com) They carry "The Touch" from ABC Radio Network in Dallas, Texas. The Touch plays the BEST R&B music like no other. I listen to them weekdays around 11am-3pm (Eastern Time) You can listen anytime you want. The way you can tell you are listenning to The Touch, they have a saying "Todays R&B and Oldschool" They usually say that going in and out of a commercial break and between songs.
-WDAS 105.3. (WDASFM.COM) When I was staying in Trenton, I listened to that station every weeknight "A Brown Night With Tony" "The Quiet Storm" That was one of THE BEST!!!!!!!!! Love Songs show out there. That cat should be syndicated. You've GOT to listen to understand what I'm saying. He's on weeknights 7pm-Midnight Eastern Time
-KISS 105.3 from Norfolk, Va (1053kiss.com) They are an affilate of Keith Sweat Hotel. But something is wrong with their online audio, you can (hear a tiny bit-of other music slightly low) other then that, it's cool
You can listen weeknights 7pm-Midnight eastern time

@Rapking, you stated 740am? They play Classic Soul now??

How about KMJQ "Magic 102.1" in Houston, Tx? Houston's first FM R&B for 30 years. Great mix of classic and current R&B. The EQ sounds real great too. Fully staffed personalities with Tom Joyner in the mornings.

I like Chicago's V103, even if they are a CC station.

V-103 Chicago
WDAS Philadelphia (not what it once was however)
KMJQ Houston
KOKY Little Rock
WGPR Detroit
KRMP-AM OKC
KVMA Shreveport
WHUR Washington

Let's not forget the very few Urban Oldies stations still out there

WDIA Memphis
WVOL Nashville
KKDA-AM Dallas
WATV Birmingham
WWWS Buffalo (which I haven't heard in years because it doesn't stream).

R.I.P. WGCI-AM Chicago, WESL-AM East St. Louis, WMCS-AM Milwaukee (still some good stuff on Saturdays)

Mark

My Favorite Urban AC stations

1. WQMG Greensboro NC...Still keeping it local
2. WHUR Washington DC.....was number 1 until all of the syndication
3. WDAS Philadelphia PA
4. KJLH LA.....Big market sounding station with a strong community connection.
5. WKUS Norfolk VA....Was really good before the budget cuts.

Other than those few stations all Urban AC's sound the same due to syndication.

Another good Urban AC is KJMG-Majic 97/Monroe,LA, there finally streaming again after being out for quite a few years at www.majic97.com Looks like the site is under construction but you can click on the link to listen.

R.I.P.
KNOK/KDLZ-107.5 Dallas-Fort Worth
KRBV-V100 (Both Dallas-Fort Worth & Los Angeles)
KWRP-Power 97.5 Houston
KAEZ-107.7 Oklahoma City
KVGS-V108 Las Vegas

Some of the Urban AC stations I would've like to hear back in the day
KUTE 102 & KACE/Los Angeles

Best UACs
1) WHUR- still good despite influx of syndication
2) WDIA- classic urban radio at it's best
3) WMCS- good mix of talk/blues & oldies on Saturdays
4) American Blues Network- love the southern blues

Honorable Mentions
KMJQ & WVAZ- both were excellent prior to their current owners taking over. Majic had a excellently presented Hot Urban AC sound that done very well. Great jocks! WVAZ represented Chicago well. Great dusties and jocks. Now both have a cookie cutter sound.

I remember when they were Urban AC as Y-98.5, back in the early-mid 90's on a good day you could pick up that station in Dallas when DFW didn't have an Urban AC at the time, it was like a breath of fresh air.
