WHATS YO least favorite/worst/poorly programmed urban stations".

POWER 92 CHICAGO POORLY PROGRAM HOW DO U GET RID RADIO PROGRAMMERS FOR THE HOT BOYS FRANKIE ROBSON RICKEY SMILEY SHOW DONT MAKE SENSE.

KBXX "97.9 The Box" in Houston. Music selection is lazy, last ones to get new music and not supporting local artists properly like they did before.
The only thing going for that station is Madd Hatta Morning Show in spite of the fact that Radio One favors syndication on almost every station they own.

KPRS HOT 103 Kansas City

Usually I wouldn't say anything about an opinion, but I have to disagree with anyone on KPRS' programming being "poor". They actually give play to local artists, plays B-side throwbacks that most urban stations wouldn't spin nowadays, and breaks up-in-coming hit songs before even V-103 in Atlanta.

KPRS definitely isn't what it was 15 years ago when it was strongly defined by local uniqueness but it is still locally owned and is running a local morning show again, it certainly isn't at the bottom of my list.

WZHT HOT 1075 Montgomery NO MIXSHOWS NO LOCAL DJS NO LOCAL MORING SHOW AINT NOTHIN BUT VOICE TRACK DJS LIKE CHRIS MICHAELS T ROY NUFF SAID

He is still on hot 1057.They used to be one of favorite stations, but clear channel messed the station up like the rest of the stations they own voice tracked and they are local 9 to 11 am too

JZ 94.5(WJZD)out of Gulfort/Biloxi, MS. I'm not going to say it's poorly programmed, but from what I heard it's Urban Oldies, Blues, R&B at day and some Hip-Hop at nigt. This area lacks a true Urban station since Clear Channel's 92.5 THE BEAT is Premium Choice Urban AC. The nearest Hip-Hop and R&B station is either Q93 New Orleans or 93 BLX Mobile.

Also don't forget about wkxn, wkxk out of greenville pine hill in south alabama, ricky smiley mornings, blues middays and hip hop and R&b the rest of the day, blues saturday until six and blues on sunday i belive,i've heard that station that you were talking about shawty down in mississippi and they are number one

I would, what hip-hop station does quite storm??? I wish they would stop try to compete with Majik 107.3. I give it to them that have local morning show but that all as far as them being on the bottom they are pretty close.

In terms of formerly great stations that have been destroyed by the big corporate monster, I would concur that WZHT has been leveled by Clear Channel.

It is ran about as well as a station in a town of 2,000 with the PD sharing duties as the community sheriff, doctor, firefighter, and postmaster would be...

KPRS has been doing the Quiet Storm for years. Way before Magic signed on in 1999. KMEL in San Francisco airs slow jams after 10pm and 4 hours down the road from K.C. KDGS in Wichita airs Slow Jams with R Dub weeknights and that's a Rhythmic station.

Are you serious? There is nothing wrong with hip-hop outlets running nighttime R&B shows - that is important in dayparting which is declining. That's like saying Atlanta's heritage powerhouse V-103 should drop its Quiet Storm program (albeit jockless) and stop going after WALR (Slow Jam) and WAMJ (Majic After Dark). WHTA and Streetz 94.5 fill that void of hip hop after hours. Now Washington DC is a whole different ballgame: before WPGC dropped their slow jam show, every single urban there had this kind of after hours R&B show, not to mention the one made famous by WHUR.

Right on! Pathetic!

WPEG Power 98 in Charlotte.

I don't live in Charlotte anymore so I can't say if its changed in the past six months, but the station is way too heavy on the R&B in the afternoons and evenings. The only time it really focuses on hip-hop is the Friday night mix shows. In my opinion, a good urban station will have non stop hip-hop during the afternoon drive and then slow it down going into the evenings, playing mostly R&B after about 9PM, with the exception of Fridays when a late night hip-hop mix show is a must.

One thing WPEG did for a time that I thought was a great idea is to play Christian hip-hop on Sunday mornings in place of gospel/praise. That would probably work for a station going after a younger audience.

Adding to the list:

KOKY 102.1 in Little Rock. Their sound is the most DATED urban ac ever. I know they'll throw in a blues track here and there but they never upgraded their playlist. Even KHLR Heartbeat 106.7 is better than this and they are a rhythmic.
