What's YOUR Favorite Radio Stations Roundup 2012

OK everybody, it's time to tell us all what your favorite radio stations are.......

They can be Local or Internet

I'll start this with my Top Puget Sound Stations (in no particular order)

CBC Radio One
KPLU
KPTK
KUGS
KWLE
KOMO
CFRO
KEXP
KMRE-LP
KKXA

Top Internet Stations (again in no particular order):

Triple J
WCPT
Jet City Stream
4BH
WFMU
WFMU Rock & Soul Ichiban
KPOO
KYRS
KBOO
BBC Radio 4
WNCW

So what's YOURS?.......

Over the air, I like KXXO's variety of soft rock, as well as Sunny 102.1's when I am at the ocean beaches. Both great playlists! Tuning into 106.9 a little bit this year and they are starting to add stuff I haven't heard there for years, so I am flip-flopping between the two.

Online, I listen to 103.7 The Oasis out of Albuquerque, NM [1037theoasis.com]. New translator signed on in February, and it's an EXCELLENT smooth jazz station. Stuff I've never been able to ID even [or hard to get the song title unless they announce it].
I also tune into 97.3 The River, Starbuck, MN [k-musicradio.com]. Pretty much it's a Dial Global carbon copy of KSWW, minus the local ads & IDs, and the Rhys Davis Morning Show.

On-Air
KMCQ (I like being exposed to music I may have missed)
KPLZ (last oasis of "adult" personality -- music not necessarily my thing)
KOMO (local local local)
KVI (in current "soft talk" configuration and as oldies stations)
and my overall favorite these days .... SCAN (just to see what everyone is doing now)

On-Line
The resurrected KISN (for library depth & imaging/packaging & presentation) [goodguyradio]
Out-of-town "heritage" stations (KRTH, CBS/NYC, for example, KILT)
and occasional check out vertical channels
Generally it's ON-DEMAND, though ... pull what I want when I want to find it...

Local:

KMCQ
KJAQ

KMCQ (broad playlist and Ted Alexander)
KZOK
KMTT
KJAQ
Out of Town:
Internet - Goodguyradi.com (KISN)
WFEZ Miami (A great format of soft ez listening that would do well)
WCBS-FM (Classic oldies station since 1972 with Heritage Call Letters)
XM Channel 13 - WLTW "Light 106.7 New York" What KRWM should be
Great topic - thanks

JakeMott, 94.9 is KQCB Cannon Beach, "Q 9-4-9". Have heard it over at Pacific Beach/Moclips area, mixing with KUOW.

If you like smooth jazz JakeMott, here's the 103.7 The Oasis Albuquerque link, if you want to try it out. IMO, it is a great station, and has smooth jazz cuts on there that I've NEVER heard before!

My favorite spoken word station in US is KOMO, and my favorite music station is WMGC out of Detroit.

For news: KOMO
For Talk: Bob Rivers/KJR and KISW Men's Room
For my female side: KPLZ
Internet: jetcitystream
Guilty pleasure: KISS-LA on IHeart and 20/20 on Sirus/XM
Country: The Highway on Sirius/XM and THE WOLF Seattle

Local, KPLZ, KLCK sometimes, KBKS, and KQMV. Out-of-market, KISC although haven't listened much since they fired JJ, KCDA, both out of Spokane, KRBB Wichita sometimes, if I'm in a good mood KHKS Dallas, or KENR Missoula. Sometimes I'll also listen to KZAL Wenachee as well. Other occasional tune ins for me include KFFM/Yakima, and WLHT/Grand Rapids. Used to listen to WQSM/Fayetteville, NC a lot on weekends. There are quite a lot I listen to very rarely now that I still have in my presets that I check in on from time to time, such as 94.9 WHOM/Portland, ME, WBEN-FM/Philidelphia, and one that I listened to a lot a couple years ago, WRQX/Washington, DC. Sometimes at night I will tune in to KBBY out of Ventura because they are a decent Hot AC with the John Tesh Radio Show.

I'm with cume! The one I work for, otherwise:

While the question was about 2012, I don't think anyone said that your favorite stations had to be current.

So:

KING-AM 1976, WLS 1975, WCFL 1975, KFRC 1974, WABC 1972, WFIL 1972. Hmm, I must have been a teenager between 1974 and 1976. :)

But just in case I am totally off base, my first listen when I visit my hometown is KJR-FM. Just to see what they are doing. Those calls will remain important to me until the day I die.

I am headed over to Seattle Sunday to watch the Mariners/Angels game and as soon as I'm close enough to start hearing signals from the Emerald City---usually Ellensburg for AM's and Snoqualmie for FM's...i will dial around and give you my two cents come Monday. Be fun to listen and see what all is happening on the weekend on the radio in my hometown! Can't wait!! Plus those Dick's Cheeseburgers.....that will be the special highlight of my trip! Nothing better in the world then 2 or 3 cheeseburgers, order of fries and a large Coke at Dick's Drive-Inn! A buddy of mine going over with me has NEVER been to Dick's in Seattle----he is in for a treat. There is a Dick's in Spokane, it is greasy, and not particularly tasty--in my humble opinion! Turns out the one in Spokane is NOT related to the ones in Seattle....the menu would tell you that!

radiojjh, I can go up on the Manastash Ridge S of Ellensburg at the viewpoint at 2500 ft, and can get your local 99.9 KXLY. Also have gotten KNCW 92.7 Omak at the same area...
