WHBB Selma May Soon Be On Selling Block

I say that because of the troubles (Con)Fuzion is having.  I look for Mr. Mike to bail out on WHBB soon, to save his sinking (Con)Fuzion ship.  If he sells the station, I might entertain the thought of checking into it.  However I would end up doing talk and/or something for the mature adults.  The youth of this city would never listen to this station, unless it had a FM relay attached to it and the presentation were to be their cup of tea.

P.S. What say you on this my radio professional friends and Mr. Zach?  I'll be looking forward to your responses.

As a broadcasting professional, I'd say your constant piling on of this small radio station that's at least tried to do something different, and starting a sale rumor with no basis in known facts is a bit obsessive.

If I were a small market owner and you displayed this lack of discretion and professionalism, I absolutely wouldn't sell regardless of you "checking into" it or not.

I appreciate your passion for radio and your beliefs, but I don't think you're going to get very far with owners discussing their properties on a public forum as you've been doing here.

Thanks for the response to my post.

From what I've been reading on the web and the many talks I've had with the locals here, (Con)Fuzion 100.1 isn't doing too well.

Many of the locals are still mad about the format change and don't like it.

Mr. Gower, myself and a few other people knew that moving to Montgomery would be a big mistake for WDXX.

I hope Mr. Mike can recover from the losses he's experiencing and regain his former listeners to this station again.

I have no reply. :)

I shouldn't reply but I will out of kindness.

RDP, no one wants you to be talking about their money. Let me repeat that... No one wants to see or hear people talking about their money! Posting comments about their money in a public forum when you aren't hiding behind a screen name ( like I am) is not smart. Heck, it's not smart for me to make these post anonymously. If you ever manage to get a LPFM these local radio pros are going to "blacklist" you based on the way you've treated them in public (i.e. here). You will need help from radio pros to run an LPFM and it's possible you've already burned all the bridges in your neck of the woods.

I've posted all kinds of uncensored information on local radio operations and I have upset several people. They may not be posting, but people from most all stations are reading these boards. I've gotten several nasty private messages from people trying to figure out who I am after I posted private information.

Zach, your the only person posting here that knows (or knew) who I am. Keep your mouth shut. I can easilly figure out where you live. ;) I know how to be dangerous. ;)

Thanks for your response Mr. Poledo.

I'll take your advice and run with it.

P.S. I'll leave that subject alone and move on. Gotta keep all my current duties in business anyway. It's fun to write and do yard work but it takes everything I get to stay afloat.

Sorry for the double postings.

My Internet connection went busy for a moment.

Hope everyone reading will understand the moderators will take away one of the posts.

To everyone reading, thanks for sharing your thoughts with me.

I'll stay away from those types of posts, in the future.

It would be a wise idea anyway.

Actually, I don't think I know enough about you at all. Not enough to build a profile, on, anyway. I've never given out personal information on here, but anyone who combs through some of my old posts can figure out where I live to within a mile or two because I've referenced my distance to a particular local station.

Good. You can stop looking over your shoulder now. :)

The radio business is tough right now (really tough for the small & independent owners) I know by experience, and speaking to fellow broadcasters. What is considered unusual and way out there for a pundit like me, might be working for a particular station(s).

A station that decides to do block programming, or run a 15 min feature that breaks the current format is not a bad reflection on that station.

With a bad economy, and high unemployment, plus increased competition from digital technology. That preacher that you hear 11:45 for 15 min on a CHR in Walla Walla Alabama might just pay a salary or the phone bill.

When you think about it that way. It makes sense.

I have a close relationship with a local newspaper. On at least two occasions the owner has contacted me and asked me to move my add to the "skybox" (the spot on the top of the front page) because they needed my check to go to press that week.
