WHBC-AM Changes

1480 in Canton looks like they are no longer doing their Live and Local show as I saw on the station's website that they are airing Dave Ramsey from 10am to Noon instead.

That means that 10am to 3pm is completely syndicated. They were always local since it became News-Talk back in 2007.

Given how much Alpha Media is slashing and obliterating payroll company-wide, if the loss of Live and Local is the only change made, it'll be a miracle. Otherwise 1480/94.1 will be facing severe cutbacks to the point a bone may no longer exist.

On a related note, former Alpha Dayton/Canton OM Bo Matthews was cut last week as part of Alpha's bloodletting:

Yeah. If I were working at 94.1 or 1480 right now I'd essentially just be waiting for the day the hammer falls.

Unfortunately, there's been quite a bit of that sort of thing at WHBC over the past decade or so. Alpha Media is just continuing the trend begun by their predecessors. That said, I can't imagine the station is saving much cash by cutting a junior employee.
