Unless you're an independent, you can't really change your streaming service. I'd love to hear an Audacy or iHeart PD make a phone call and say they want their station removed from the corporate streaming network because some of the fill content on the stream isn't as current as they would like.Uh.... at the risk of being repetitive, the station is responsible for what it airs, regardless of source.
If a supplier continuously provides bad product, then the station should go to another supplier.
Oh, but I thought the streaming service inserted it's own client's ads wherever they could. I'd be interested to know how that works.Often times station groups don't even try to sell time on the stream. They'll just plug in local promos, PSAs and anything where they may be able to treat it is a make good or bonus for a particular client.
Radio today is, shall we say, "sloppy? "
I just heard an ad that ended with, "Enjoy a brighter smile in 2024! "
There's another ad that's been running for weeks that mentions Mocha but pronounces it, "Ma-cha" instead of "Mo-ka."
I could go on, but there are too many examples and there's no point.
My suspicion is that the people who write and program this stuff don't listen to the radio.
I wasn't. I'm a Florida baby. As far as I'm concerned, the first two snowfalls were interesting but after that if it had never snowed again or dropped below 6o, I would have been OK with it.I was born and raised in NE Ohio. It will always be home and I genuinely miss the area so much. But not from November to March.
Someone already corrected me on that. Matcha is a Japanese green tea.macha is actually a think and kinda of drink
Also as discussed I think many of these problems are related to the streaming providers, not the broadcast stations.People who know me know i care about the on air product and have been in the studio at all hours if i catch something egregious enough or not befitting of the standards i expect out of my stations.
I also can tell you mistakes happen and ive made them, running old promos or old weather or whatever.,
It happens to the best of us
