WHCF/WHMX & Translators sold

Bangor Baptist Church is selling their Bangor & Lincoln stations & the PRESQUE ISLE,ELLSWORTH,ORONO,HODGDON & CALAIS translators to Lighthouse Radio Network for $100.00

Their translator on 92.1 from Ellsworth (on the old WKSQ tower on Beckwith Hill, off Route 3) really puts out a good signal...blasts right down onto Mount Desert Island here, 15 miles south.

I haven't read or heard a thing about this elsewhere. Just wondering, Andy, where you got your info. I'm also kind of baffled as to why Bangor Baptist would want to sell . . . insufficient contributions with the economic downturn?

I'm pretty sure that Lighthouse Radio Network is virtually the same entity as Bangor Baptist Church. This is probably just one of those "formality" filings for a transfer of ownership.

I have on good authority, they are moving the broadcast to a "new" 501c3. Note that the individuals are the same. This app does show on FCC site.

There was a "Public Notice" of the sale in yesterday's (Thursday Aug. 9th) Bangor Daily News.
