WHDH Meltdown

Julius says: Ignore the other link I posted. It doesn't work.

I say: No s*it Sherlock.

Wow. I have to say that there are technical problems with live newscasts sometimes, but I have never seen one more serious than this. They have to put this on Most Outrageous Live TV Moments.

No Julius, we can't do that for you. You can help yourself in this instance. Try this: re-read this thread in it's entirety, and eventually you will find out what happened. I posted that information here after reading on several other blog/gossip websites. You should already know what happened, since you have posted in this thread after I posted information that I found.

Please re-read this thread Julius. It's not difficult. If you read the information here, then you are all set. People here refuse to cater to your demands. Do the research yourself for a change.

the meltdown is posted on this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WHDH-TV.

John: It's about time someone else stood up to Julius, and refuses to tolerate his silly antics. I provided Julius with the information he wanted to know, concerning the WHDH Meltdown. However, he is not satisfied. Don't worry about this guy. He's never satisfied with anything. People try to help him out with his concerns and such, and he simply keeps asking the same things over and over...and includes these outlandish demands for airchecks, items on YouTube, and so forth.

Someone who only went by its IP number removed the article, with no reason given. Because of both these reasons, I've restored the article.

Hopefully, it'll stay that way.

There was no reason to restore the article. The information that Julius wanted was posted here. He's just finding another excuse to post on here...also a reason to infest that other message board. That's all it is. It's the Julius way.

This is what is posted on wikipedia
August 16, 2006: Newscast Meltdown

On August 16, 2006, there were serious technical problems during WHDH's 11PM newscast. A computerized control room switch, which literally control the station's news feeds, cameras, teleprompters and other related infrastructure, failed, forcing the newscast's anchors and producers to ad-lib. At the start of the newscast, which was without an opening, anchor Randy Price apologized for the technical problems, but will still present the news. After co-anchor Christa Delcamp struggled with a report on the arrest in the JonBenét Ramsey case , they went to a commercial break. When the program returned, they attempted to jump to a filed report from Dan Hausle about the arrest in the JonBenét Ramsey case, but instead got a still picture with no sound for 30 to 45 seconds, before the video started, minus Hausle's narration. After that failed, they went to commercial again. After the break ended, about seven minutes into the newscast, Price announced that the remainder of the newscast has been canceled due to persistent technical problems; Delcamp then announced that WHDH would join MSNBC for the remainder of the newscast.
It is newsworthy and it should be mentioned at that site.

It was already here. You came on THIS board and asked for information. I provided the information you asked for. End of story. There is no need to spam every message board you can find to ask the same questions over and over. You have been warned about this several times over the years by the current and former management of this site.

I have asked the posters on this board that the story of this newscast be posted on that site, since no one was willing to do it, I had to. It was deleted but someone put it back up.

Also, not everyone who frequents Wikipedia visits (or has even heard of) Radio-Info.

Its been removed again. The links on what happened in that newscast are still there. Why did WHDH decide to go tapeless

I personally wish people wouldn't keep removing it. It's documenting something that happened at the station. The internet should be about giving people more information instead of deleting relevant information that people may be interested in.

Julius: Why did WHDH decide to go tapeless? Because it's cheaper for the company to have one person operate a computer to run tapes, and direct the newscast, operate the cameras, operate the chyron generator, and so forth...instead of having one person dedicated to each of those jobs. It's all about money. Deal with it. You ask the same stupid questions on the Philadelphia boards. Most people there are sick and tired of you. Now you have to come over to the Boston boards, with your same silly drivel. Give up please.
