WHEB's Baker from "The Ride" ...Done!

Baker half of the afternoon drive "The Ride" last day is Friday 7/2. Very, very sad...not sure about any details. Great show, great talent...I wish him well!

I caught the last hour of the show today with Baker saying his goodbyes.

He did say it was his choice to leave now. He didn't give any details on what he'll be doing next, but moving on to something different.

His last two songs played were "Keep Yourself Alive" by Queen (the very first song he ever played in rock radio) and "Shine a Light" by the Stones.

I was wondering if this was the case. I've been away for a while, just to come back...and I haven't heard them at all. I googled it and got this site. It's too bad. I wish this weren't the case. They both did a great job and had awesome talent for a show that wasn't given a meaty budget. They both worked well on the air together. Having known both of them from years back, they are both great guys without the horrible ego. Baker would give the shirt off his back for anyone. Lots of great laughs with these two, I really hate to see the show go. My best to both...WHEB (and 4:20 PM) is not going to be much anymore without the loyalty and dedication from these dudes for almost a decade. Talented radio in Rochester-Dover-Portsmouth, now I think is just about officially history...Best of luck and rock on, Baker and Stoney!

If you wake up early, you may hear their morning show. Creative radio on the seacoast isn't finished because of B&S. It was 4th rate radio with pot jokes. They might be nice guys but the show was like the third Newhart show.

I don't think it was 4th rate radio....at least it was like sitting in their living room...that's what a radio "show" is supposed to be like...just like the Buzz. Radio after all is music first then entertainment and Baker and Stoney were entertaining.

Never knew Newhart was all about pot jokes. But then again, the 2nd show was set in Vermont.
