Before things get messy, I'll just go ahead and give you the answer. The format wheel was indeed a hoax, as the new format was not among the 8 that were listed. As of 6 AM (EST) this morning, 100.5 FM is now Rock 100.5 You can download and listen to the flip here:

Well, at least 99 X is gone !!!! That station never did anything for me.

Hey, me neither, but Maria Saporta has a column in today's business section of the AJC about the demise of 99X and how it affects her family and, supposedly, the entire city. Apparently she hasn't gootten the word that the intent is for it to live on in HD format. From the reactions I've read, a lot of folks liked it and are upset, so I'm not going to put down anyone else's passion. It just wasn't my cup o' coffee (I don't drink hot tea.)

Wow I am glad someone from Quebec was able to to teach us dumb Southerners that the Wheel of Format was just a hoax. I was really concerned we were going to get the silence channel.

I have no problems with our Northern friends just people who all of sudden pop up on the Atlanta board out of the blue and treat us like we were stupid enough to believe the format wheel was for real.

Actually, I've heard stunting similar to this where the actual format did end up being one of the ones in the stunt...so I don't think it was necessarily insulting for Mark77 to point out that the format wheel was nothing but a diversion.
