When are 95.9 & 101.7 coming to Charleston?

Anyone know, or care to guess?

Also, what are the leading candidates for formats (presuming "Chuck" moves to one of these signals)?

G

It will happen around September or October according to the article recently in Surge magazine in MYB. Not sure as to what will happen with Chuck.

..speaking of rumors, I been hearing Apex is trying to launch an Urban station on 95.9 to combo with Urban AC STAR 99.7 to go head to head with Z-93 JAMZ. Any truth to this?

They want to take STAR and mix hip hop in with it???? I have been hearing some old school rap on STAR recently and MAGIC has called them out on that.

Yo Iceman, remember times are changing. I don't think its such a bad idea for Urban AC stations to start throwing old school hip-hop in rotation. Those are the only type of Urban songs you don't hear on your average Urban and Urban AC stations today. STAR 99.7 positions itself as "R&B and Old School" so im assuming the old school could be hip-hop or R&B.

STAR 99.7's "Hip-Hop" spins...
Mystical "Shake Ya Ass"
Arrested Development "Mr Wendall"
Blackstreet "No Diggity"
DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince "Summertime"
Beyonce "Get Me Bodied"
