As I write these words, I stare dumbfounded at the banner ad at the top of this page. And may the Lord strike me dead if I'm making this up. Here is what scrolls:
"The Phil Hendrie Show is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are gonna get."
You've gotta be $%^&ing KIDDING me.
What happened, did the TRN-FM copywriting team already give "the best thing since sliced bread" to Rusty Humphries??
Phil Hendrie is a genius and an artist and may be the only broadcaster left with any kind of appreciation for the integrity of the medium as a forum for performance. If I were Phil and I saw that inane banner ad, I'd be grinding my teeth into fine powder.
And just to make sure this post doesn't wind up somewhere else, does anyone remember when Phil Hendrie was part of that killer WHP-AM nighttime talk lineup that also featured Mike Gallagher, Lionel, Jim Bohannon and Art Bell? I used to listen for hours a day.
