When did 96-5 TIC stop being Top 40?

I’ve been reading through a lot of old Radio & Records magazines from the late 80s and early 90s, and have noticed that WTIC-FM used to be considered CHR, right up against WKSS. It seemed like they made the transition in the mid-90s, but it was still considered a Top 40 station as late as 1996. When did they officially make the switch?
 
On or around June 12, 1994. They became Hot A/C "96.5-TIC". The change was partly due to ratings and (I believe) a change in station ownership.
