When Did KFBK Drop Fox News Radio?

Tuned in this evening at the top of the hour and it's all local - and apparently recorded news-weather-traffic.

Does BK have any network news affiliation anymore?

I thought they just added Newsradio? Guess I need to listen and pay attention. I'll listen on my way to work and report back.

EDIT: I completely mis-read the OP. ;D

I remember when KFBK was an affiliate of CBS Radio in the 1970's then in the 1980's they switched to NBC then to ABC. How long where they with Fox?

When I left BK in mid-2005, they had already announced the Fox News Radio/Clear Channel deal, and that they were dropping ABC a few months later - I think it was around October, 2005, give or take a month either way. I was also there when they dropped Paul Harvey.....I can still see the worried faces of Ken Kohl and others that first day there was no "News & Comment". As I recall, there were quite a few calls about that...and that management really wasn't too keen when Tom Sullivan {still at BK, not wanting anyone except Kitty in BK Control when he was on the air} decided to explore the issue of Harvey's departure live on-air. But they all survived.

Sounds like you and I were at BK around the same time. I remember things the same way although I think they dropped the ABC affiliation earlier than October 2005 as I did the technical cut over and I was on my way out by October. :)

Stewie,

I quit BK in early July, 2005 and left radio.....an overdose of Ken Kohl can do that to you, especially after 25 years in the same market. It could easily have been August/September.

At the top of the hour, I switch to KNCO-AM 830 for ABC News. If you can't get KNCO, you can at least get CBS on KSTE 650.

Frankly, I can't recall how long it has been since I listened to any radio over the air......I listened to some KFBK
on my computer, and get the full five minute top-of-the-hour Fox News from their website.

The jazz I used to listen to was more or less erased from the airwaves a long time ago, so I'm used to going
to Internet radio for a better quality presentation and music mix than local station's streams.

I'm guessing that CBS Radio news is either very cheap or bartered in some way to have headlines on KSTE
while KFBK has a few CBS cuts now and then, and they sometimes stream CBS updates online.
