When did KFI news become so politically correct

For the last 24 hours in every newscast KFI has been reporting a story of a failed abduction of a teenager somewhere in Los Angeles. The story describes the suspect as having a pox marked face and asked for anyone to report such a man to the police. Every other media in town is reporting a middle aged hispanic man with pox marked face and yet KFI asks for help in finding this suspect but leaves out key information - Middle aged and hispanic.

If you cannot do a decent job in reporting stories then what is the point of even reporting that story. Why not just have Kardashian updates during the news breaks instead. KFI news has gotten so politically correct that they have now started to sound stupid.

What does a Hispanic look like?

OMG, maybe KFI has become enlightened and they realize that Hispanics can look nordic, indigenous, Black, Mediterranean, Asian and anything else you can imagine.

In the diverse LA area, it is perhaps better to describe a person by actual characteristics, since many stereotypical descriptions of "Hispanics" would also fit Persians or Koreans or Italians or Spaniards or...

Good for KFI. They are eliminating a dangerous and inaccurate stereotype, if, indeed, this is a new policy.

I have been mistaken for English, French, Dutch, Greek, Mexican, and Hebrew. ;D I am a white male with English, German, Scottish, Cherokee ancestory. I have lived in many countries because of my service in the military.

Why can't they just say a man with brown (dark or light, as the case may be) complexion?

And David, this is not because they have seen the light into your historically and ethnically correct definitions, it's because the PC police is monitoring them and they are self-censoring. The self censorship is a much more significant issue than what constitutes they phrase "hispanic".

Relax. Editors just churn out copy that's as accurate, concise, and conversational as possible.

They don't really have enough time to think deeply about a story.

I have to agree with David on this one. A hispanic can be fair skinned, have blonde hair, and blue eyes. I would, however, have included the middle age reference. When one is middle aged, as I am, you look much different than a 20 year old, or an 80 year old. Of course even that is debate-able: look young or old for your age, etc.
