When did KIRO Change format

An interesting thread started on the KBSG post and I though it deserved it own topic.

How many format changes has KIRO AM been through since 1970?
And were they actual format changes or adjustments to the news/talk format they have had since they changed from a music personality station in the 70’s

KIRO AM made a definitive format change in the early 70’s to News Talk. The first 2 years were a little tough but since then it has been their bread and butter format.

When did KIRO no longer consider music the main point of the format and just used the music to fill the space between interviews and news?
