When did XM go on-the-air?

The original launch date was 9/11/2001. Obviously they had to postpone the start up. XM went on air a few weeks later.

I heard Bill Mack (Afternoons on Open Road) say he went on the day before 9/11. Of course at that point he was probably only broadcasting to himself and his producer.

XM launched the service to DFW and San Diego on 9/25/2001.

XM went national 11/12/2001.
