When does Dave Price take over TPIR?

You haven't heard? It's down to George Hamilton (veteran of many tanning beds), Mark Steines (veteran of celebrity ass-kissing...I mean, Entertainment Tonight), and Todd Newton (someone who's actually hosted a game show...how the hell did he get in there?).

As for Bob Barker, he tapes his final show in June, which probably means the new guy won't be on our screens until September at the earliest.

If they pick George Hamilton as host of The Price Is Right (and I hope they won't), I see the show lasting not too much longer after that. The only reason why they are going for George Hamilton so that CBS can pull The Price Is Right as fast as they can so that they can extend The Bold And The Beautiful to an hour and replace TPIR with The Young And The Restless and putting The Bold And The Beautiful on in the TYATR's old time slot and extending the 1PM Eastern/Noon Central hour for local affiliates to extend their local news or show syndicated programs.

I guess John O'Hurley didn't exactly move the people who do the auditions for the new host of TPIR since he is not mentioned anymore as a candidate as the new host. I only wished that it was him that was hosting. At least he still has Family Feud to host. He is a great host on there.

Seems the price is wrong for poor Dave. Somebody, or more than one somebody at the CBS head office has called his bluff. If he really DID have some sort of offer to go to FOX News (and I really doubt it), considering he's part of the constantly lowest-rated morning show ever......who would miss him???

Haveing dusted that aside, the smart money right now is on Todd Newton. Word is he's REALLY popular in Las Vegas right now, actually selling out his Harrah's venue for more than a few nights in a row.

If CBS picks George Hamilton OVER Todd Newton & Mark Steines, That would PROBABLY be the most dumbest thing ever-right next to Katie doing "The CBS Evening News". I think Todd be the best choice for CBS and its current producers, FreMantleMedia North America. I believe Todd would get paid in Six figures, and will have Bob's Office-and a free use of an Escalade. "If you want to be a man, you Gotta BE the man!-Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!" "Nature Boy" Ric Flair

No, I did not know that Dave "Price" Is Right was outta the running. I thought it was a done deal.

But c'mon, for George Hamilton to even be considered? WTF!!!! I cannot recall Todd Newton. But of the three, I'd vote for Todd.

I guess I vote for Todd Newtown as well although I've never heard of him, but it sounds like he has some Price is Right experience. I don't think Steines would make a good host and well George Hamilton is just unacceptable. Remember in the Burt Reyonlds movie The Cannonball Run when a girl mistakes Roger Moore for being Hamilton, with Moore feeling like he had just been insulted? That's how I would feel!

They better pick Todd. Otherwise, they're missing out on a quality host who is very familiar with game shows and who has had great success at a very young age.

AMEN!

I couldn't say it better myself!

Is there a definate date when Bob Barker retires from The Price Is Right? I thought it was to be back in March.
Yes. Thursday, June 6. Studio 33, sometime after 3 PM.

As to when it airs, that is still in question. CBS had initially scheduled it for June 15, but now it looks like Eye will start repeats June 4, hold the finale in abeyance through the summer and run it the Friday before the new host takes charge. Their '15 Seconds' promotion also seems to have a role in this.

I think the final daytime price is right with Bob should rebroadcast that evening...or as a lead in to the Prime time tribute to Bob.
