When Does Fox 25 Gets "Cubed"??

Has anyone heard anything abut an exact date that WFXT-25 will change to the new "cube" logo that all the Fox O&O's are getting??

I suspect it will be no later than April 27th since that's when the May sweeps begin.

Who said they are getting this?

Joseph,
Please link for us the exact story that says there is a mandate that the Fox O and O's are getting the same logo? From what I read, (on Fybush.com) the only reason why Fox 5 in NY got the new cube logo was because they are sharing news operations with Fox News Channel. That in NO WAY means that Fox25 or any other tations are getting the same logo.

So, link me the story first, please, before we go on a nother goose chase that's going to end up with somebody entering false info on Wikipedia.

You could very well be right on. Although Fox25 recently changed their logo (bug) to an ellipse that revolves around their Fox25 News (with time/temp) logo. I hate those things because the videos often are framed so that the logo/bug covers over portions of what should be seen on the air.

I hear that the revolving ellipse is nice but will be short-lived. The rumor I heard was that Fox25 will, as you say, be adapting to a new style logo in the near future. Probably the new "cube" logo to keep things consistent. I haven't heard anything about a "chasing geese" logo or any Press Release from FOX about logos.

I heard about the "cube" logo coming to FOX25 as a credible rumor from a reliable source.

Probably real soon since WTIC-TV (FOX) channel 61 of Hartford is sporting a new logo soon. It appeared in a "Fox 61 Sports Ticket" full-page ad in a New Britain Rock Cats baseball program.

"a credible
rumor from a reliable source."

I hope you are being sarcastic.

Without a name, there's no such thing.

I heard a credible rumor from a reliable source that Clear-channel is buying Mix98.5, CBS is changeing their name to Group W, and that Katie Couric changed her mind about the whole Evening News thing.

See?
Anyone can claim to have a cridible rumor from a reliable source, but without naming that source, it means nothing. Naming it gives it teeth. Until I read a named source (and it's not a rumor) Fox25's logo (and other associated Fox owned stations) are not being "cubed."

I think you're missing the point. The question was not whether Fox 25 is getting a new logo, but whether the new logo will be "cubed" since sister station Fox 5 in New York (and a couple of other Fox stations) did it. The original claim was an assumption by Joe Gallant, our favorite speculator. And as usual, this whole thing is spiraling into a discussion about something that has no merit.

Fox 61's new logo is unrelated.

Set the record straight

From tvnewser...
"Word from Dedham is that the corporate big wigs are pushing a ton of changes at 25. It now seems all Fox O&O's will be using the same logo,"

It is coming, end of story.

I wouldn't normally bash my own site, but this (what TVNewser quoted) came from a poster on BTVN, and while I like to think we're usually pretty accurate (I actually think the poster in question DOES have inside knowledge), I'd urge you to take it with a grain of salt; it's hearsay until we hear different, but I'm working my inside sources to find out more. By all means, check back in a few days and hopefully we'll have something more concrete.

Fox O&O "Cube" Logos

Although I can't say anything about how many Fox O&O's have adopted "cube" logos on-air, the websites of WNYW-5 New York and KTVI-2 St. Louis have been redesigned with both stations getting a "cube" logo.
