I wouldn't be surprised if AZTV went after Wheel and Jeopardy, to complement their acquisition of Rachael from KPHO.Eric Stein said:formeraa said:That show gets worse ratings than the old 12 News at 5 and takes a whole lot more resources and talent. When "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy" become available?
Scripps is not renewing the two shows for its stations, including KNXV - http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/480660-Scripps_Stations_Seek_to_Develop_New_Access_Hits.php. I'm not sure where they're going, but 12 has nothing to lose.

If 12 dumps Extra, they run a risk of losing Ellen. I believe they are a package deal.Eric Stein said:desertskies said:I wouldn't be surprised if AZTV went after Wheel and Jeopardy, to complement their acquisition of Rachael from KPHO.
A possibility. It could happen as part of a shared contract agreement, like the arrangement they already have with KPNX in regards to "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" I would say they're probably happy with "Family Feud" at this time.
"Wheel" and "Jeopardy" are expensive shows that attract an older audience. But, 12 could see it as an opportunity to keep their news audience loyal at a time when NBC's fortunes are declining. Plus, do they really want to keep lowly "Extra" any longer?![]()

Agreed...I heard the same rumor about a year and a half ago.

They do have the programming budget after Oprah left the air. They sure didn't use it this past season (see "America's Court" for proof). Unfortunately, if this is true and they put the shows back to back once again between 7-8pm, it won't be as successful as the first time around.
