When Is Comcast's Contract Up With Disney/WPVI?

You can bet that the current brouhaha in New York City between Cablevision and Disney vis a vis WABC is going to rear its ugly head once again in Philly when Comcast's time to negotiate with WPVI is due - that is, if it's not happening already... And like the New York City situation, I can imagine that it will unfold on the heels of a big viewership event like the Oscars... maybe the next time ABC has the Super Bowl? And the Eagles are in it?

ABC isn't in the rotation for the Super Bowl as they don't air NFL games.

And that is funny how Disney paid more than the other 3 networks for MNF on ESPN. ESPN should have negotiated the Superbowl every 4 years and broadcast on "ESPN on ABC".

Does anyone think that Comcast will have to play nice with other content providers to Xfinity because they want to buy NBC/Universal? At the same time, there is still no Versus on DirecTv. DirecTv says negotiation problems with Comcast, the owner of Versus.

If WPVI is ever taken off by Comcast because of a retransmission dispute like WABC you can bet there will be riots and chaos in the streets with protesters marching and singing "Move Closer To Your World" and clamoring that they can't live without Jim Garnder on their TV screens. :D

I presume your joking, and if you're not, that statement is simply utter nonsense. I don't know anyone who feels that they must live with watching local TV news, especially anyone under 30 years old. Those days are fading, yes, still slowly in this market, with about 260,000 households watching 'PVI at 11pm according to the latest ratings, but a steady slide downhill none-the-less.
