When is Free FM coming to Seattle?

When is someone or in this case CBS going to bring a Hot talk station back to Seattle? Is Jack that strong that they won't consider a fromat change? Or do they think too many format changes at the 96.9 signal would show instability?I think the Buzz showed that a hot talk station can succeed here in Seattle. It wouldn't have to be "Radio for guys" like the Buzz was but Hot talk is needed here in Seattle and I think they would have a proven winner in Leykis in afternoon Drive because you know he's not happy being on tape delay over at KISW.Seattle was one of his biggest markets and a Free FM station that had some local shows mixed in with proven national ones would be a ratings & billing bonanza! One other question, do you think they would take Adam C from the Buzz or even better maybe bring O&A to mornings in Seattle now that they are back with CBS?

First off Jack is on 96.5 not 96.9, secondly Adam is on the End and not the Buzz. Plus I keep hearing all of these people praising the Buzz, but if it was that good ratings wise and billing wise, why would they blow it up and make it a country station? Either the people who continously praise it on this board are right and the idiots at Entercom picked the wrong station to flip to country, or the people are just simply bitter that it's gone.

Free FM was a bit of a risk, since hot talk hasn't set the world on fire where it's been tried. KLSX in L.A. has had success, but much of it was due to Stern and Leykis, and Stern isn't a factor there now. Elsewhere, the new Free FMs haven't taken off, and most younger listeners I've met (in Phoenix) aren't impressed, and no longer listen to KZON. Don't knmow if that holds for other markets, but I wouldn't be surprised.I suspect more radio execs are high on the hot-talk concept than most listeners. The jury's still out on Free FM, but Jack is probably a better bet, even though it's no panacea, as its latest ratings will attest.Funny thing about quick-fix formats like Jack. Give them a year or two, and they need a quick fix.

Given time Opie & Anthony may yet be on the air out here.Today on their CBS terrestrial show they were complaining the "suits" weren't yet ready to announce their move into 4 more markets, including Washington DC & Detroit.
