When is WTIX-FM Gonna "Get It?"

They're getting beaten by Scott Shannon's canned sh*t. DUH. When is TIX FM gonna realize their lineup of canned DJs and crappy music needs to be be junked? They've been running the identical format and the same boring DJs for 10+ years. I guess Mike just wants to play with his toy. If he wants to be competitive he should either change his tired out jocks and get some fun DJs and music, or get out the business.

BINGO.

All Mike Costello cares about is trying to somehow insert himself into WTIX's history. And he somehow has the money to try.

I didn't say it would work, but he is trying.

Um how is he getting beat by Scott Shannon.....seeing how true oldies is now..well 106.1 the Ticket :) ::)

Duh. Use your head. The ratings were taken before the format change and Shannon soundly beat the hell out of WTIX FM in the Fall 2011 book, as they were still playing oldies thru the entire Fall book.

I would much rather listen to a voice tracked Bobby Reno playing the wide playlist of TIX FM than I would a generic voice tracked DJ playing the same 100 burned to a crisp songs that you get on most oldies stations.

It does appear that Costello does call out research to determine his playlist. It also appears that he only calls out to one person, himself.
"Hey Mike, whaddya think of Last Train to Clarksville by the Monkees and For Your Eyes Only by Sheena Easton? Awesome songs, put 'em on"

As an out of towner who frequents NOLA, I happen to enjoy the sounds of TIX. I've never heard anything like it in any town. Sure wish I could stream the station online.

I have not listened to WTIX-FM being here in the Jackson, MS metro area, but I second the motion of the guy who made the last post about streaming the signal. It is probably much better than the oldies stations I stream regularly such the 50-60's station in Dallas I hear on Itunes, and the internet station I hear out of Philadelphia dedicated to HyLit, the legendary Philly DJ and much better than listening to the local outlet here streaming with no DJ. If you at WTIX-FM think you have something special show the rest of the country what you have and stream the signal.

Davey Jones died? Thank gosh me mate Brian Jones is still alive....
