When is Y101 moving to 100.9?

I thought it happened in July too...it didn't?

Was that just smoke and mirrors by Cox Radio? I mean, they had the press release and everything.

Either way, it doesn't really matter BTLS has not made much headway against Elliott and the X.

Obviously this has garnered little to no attention. However the station does sound more than four times as bad now. It takes a little more than a better signal you know. The next few rounds of numbers will tell the story though.

That's probably the only reason why the format's still on the air. Cox is big on rock formats, and this expensive frequency change has been in the works (in the government's eyes, at least) for about 3-4 years.

If BTLS completely tanks (which it seems to have) and the "bigger" signal don't cut it, I smell a flip in the works...but I've been saying that since '04 when the X began to dominate the ratings.

And BTW, how much "bigger" is their signal? I haven't made it up to central VA in awhile, but being on that tower in Mechanicsville means all that power is going out to the swamps in the north and east...not the growing areas of Midlothian and Short Pump. I would imagine their signal has improved little if any in Downtown Richmond, either.

It doesn't make sense...Richmond is a pretty big rock town. Why not a reincarnation of something similar to a modern-day WVGO? It can't hurt at this point.

Y101 is now on 100.9. I can hear them clear as a bell in Smithfield VA. I can get it better than The X on good days. Here is the Frequency flip

Can anybody give me reception reports on the other side of the coverage area? I remember basically 101.1 pooping out around Cumberland County to the west and south of Bowling Green to the north.

Going to Cville on I64 it fades out around Exit 136 (Zion Crossroads) where the rest of the Richmond stations starts fading.

But at night I heard it in Charlottesville.
