When it's NOT lightning ...

it's the air conditioner.

What station was affected now due to a broken AC?

This June, the AC broke at WWPH, so the broadcast day was shortened by 3 hours for a few days.<P ID="signature">______________

Bah! 1070 WKMB has no A/C at their TX site (actually, in their wooden TX shed) and their CCA transmitter has gotten by okay for the past 33 years that way.

Yep - same at WMID/WZBZ, WAYV and others ...
But a 25,000 watt FM transmitter is a little different
than a 250 watt AM. When you're near the ocean, the
corrosion from fresh air will ruin a transmitter
fast, so a closed or well filtered fresh air system
is the only way to go.
