When Rebecca Attacks...

I cant believe anyone hasnt posted this up yet:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnZd-5dYXfk

Shes been "suspended indefinately" by the news director, Personally, I think she needs to be fired for her actions.

Her story has even managed to get some national attention (mostly via the internet).

Better not let her know about the Texas SDA (conceal carry) permits, or she would devote a year of stories to that.

Even Becky Oliver wouldn't stoop that low, leave the poor guy alone!

She and Becky Oliver (consumer reporter) are both in the same league, they have engaged in tactics like this for years when it comes to harassing people. I hope Becky is the next one to fall...

I hope somebody got it and will either torrent it out or put it up elsewhere.

You Tube pulled it: This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by KDFW FOX 4 TV I'm glad I had a chance to view it yesterday. She should be fired, period!

Rebecca crossed way way over the line of professionalism. BUT, she shouldn't be the only one that takes the heat. Who oversees editing, or the final product before it hits the air? They didn't just film it and it go straight out, without several people viewing it.

I cant believe these SOBS at NAHJ are defending her sorry ass. Makes me sick...

Fred, thank you for getting back up :)

I can't believe that KDFW suspended her! After all, THEY allowed the report to air.

BTW, I defend the NAHJ to have any opinion that they choose to have. I may disagree with them, but I'm not going to call them names under any circumstances.

Former, when you allow people to put stories like this on the air, be it was her idea or her news director, you dont defend their actions. In fact, you make examples of them and show that this kind of behavior isnt allowed by showing them the door. Im also in agreement that whomever gave carte blance from the newsdesk that day should be cut as well.

Im also taking NAHJ to task as well due to the fact they're covering for "their own", which is a slap in the face to decent journalist of all races, creeds, colors, ect.. When you give someone a "prize" for exhibiting the same behavior that she showed on the air the other evening, you lose credibility with me.

So far it's still a live link too, if they take it away again I have a friend in Dallas that is an electronics whiz guy, has it saved to hard drive, has his own hosting and servers and it WILL be seen if KDFW makes Live Leak pull it, one way or another, it WILL survive...

And again, thank you for linking to me on this, it has really helped my hits on the blog, and that is always appreciated...

Fred

NAHJ isn't the only bunch defending her actions. www.tvspy.com...check out "watercooler".

I thought Rebecca did cross the line. If she'd wanted to do the story, there was a better way - there always is - and by no means should she be held solely responsible. That said, many stories reach air without ever being viewed by a manager or producer. Frequently only those stories needing legal clearance get previewed. It's likely one or two people other than the reporter and editor (who may also have been the shooter) saw it prior to air, but it's equally likely that all they did before the piece aired was ask how long it was.

I saw that on TVSpy...Just a bunch of sycophants who are prolly jockying for a slot in the market.

In all the swirl and whirl of this issue is one that hasn't been brought up on this thread nor has it been addressed in any media outlets I am aware of, as well.

A man still has a right to defend his property.

I'm sure the man is extremely upset, but I do not take exception at all for him using deadly force to defend his property. We still have the right to bear arms in the United States, the last time I checked.

Truthfully, I always believe in shoot to kill, if someone is breaking into your property. It will save the taxpayers the cost of a trial.
