When The DJ Just About Loses It On Air.....

I worked for WGGH 1150 Marion, IL 2009-2011. The name "Monster Radio" came about because we used to run talk by day with classic hits most evenings and most of the weekend .."Monster Talk, Monster Hits". We used the tag lines "Connecting With Southern Illinois Because We Care" and "The LOCAL Station, Monster Radio AM 1150".

We carried Rick n Bubba 6-9am and Dennis miller 9-Noon and I board opped those shows. I had the station sounding tighter than Fort Knox with how tight I ran the board.

One day, I had several people in studio for whatever reason, and we heard some squeaking in the studio... started looking around, and found a mouse under our floor to ceiling rack of equipment that was obviously on it's way to meet Mouse Jeebus, but it was still kinda alive.... I wans't going to mess with it.

In this recording... at about 23 seconds, someone pokes me in the back with something and I react, not knowing what it is. (turns out it was a broom handle)... then at 29 seconds you hear me just lose it.. thats when someone shoves the now dead mouse on a broom stick in front of my face and I can just barely hold it together to end the break.
