When the scream makes the song

Old Thread, I realize, but Love Rollercoaster has a disturbing scream that's been the subject of many urban myths.

Okay, I have to mention Earache My Eye by Cheech & Chong. The 1974 comedy recording was a top-ten hit. A father yells at his son for listening to rock music and the boy says he can't go to school because he has an earache. The father says, "Earache my eye! How would you like a butt ache?" The father hits him with a belt and the boy says, "What are you trying to do, tickle me?" The father hits harder and the boy starts screaming.

I know, I know---the description sounds like child abuse. Trust me, it's funnier on the actual recording!

I looked to see if this was brought up---

Nobody has mentioned "I Got You (I Feel Good)" by James Brown! What would that song be without the first 1-2 seconds?

EDIT: I see Post #3. Carry on, I missed it.

Not really a radio hit, but "Man Out of Time" by Elvis Costello & the Attractions (off the classic album Imperial Bedroom) has Elvis doing a shrieking bit on the fade-out.

Is it a scream, or a whisper, that is part of the intro to "Blowin' Away" by the 5th Dimension?

Are they actually saying something?

Always wondered the same, no clue there, but great song!

"When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes" by The Supremes includes a scream, though I've never heard a definitive answer of whether or not it's one of the 4 Tops or H-D-H.

I have always liked Jan & Dean. Their hits included Baby Talk, Surf City, Honolulu Lulu, Dead Man's Curve and The Little Old Lady From Pasadena. Their ballads didn't do very well though; Wanted, One Girl didn't even make the Hot 100...but the B-side, Something A Little Bit Different, was filled with screams and yells. You can find that "song" at http://torrentz.eu/a32adbb01f9f6a16873a462816130d88f015f85d along with all their other recordings.

More like a "rurrrrrrrrAH!!!!!". "...Lovelight..." is one of my favorite Supes songs and I wish it got more airplay on terrestrial oldies stations (outside of specialty shows).
