When will 107.5 get approval

Anybody know the status on the 107.5 move and 107.1 power increase?

It can be done quickly, in a couple of weeks if needed and all local permits and the tower is up. But they are cutting it close with not much time in case there is a "missed step". IIRC is the "hold up' the FAA. If so can you get an "extension" if another agancy of the Government messes you up?

The next couple of months barring another hurricane / depression should be pretty dry so the tower work should go well. Still little time for "missing, forgotten, back-ordered, damaged in shipping equipment. It can be done, but still little time for error.

I noticed 107.5's construction permit expires November 6th. Does anybody know if they will be ready in time?

The CE told me a couple of months ago that it will definitely be done. But I drove by on Tuesday, and it looked like nothing had been done.

Has anyone heard any updates in regards to the construction permit? Just realized that the 6th is on this coming Sunday.

I called Vic (the CE) 2 weeks ago, and they said he was on vacation. I left a message last week, and he didn't return the call, which was a first. So I'm wondering if they've been knocking the job out over the past couple of weeks. I may drive by the site this weekend.

I went by there Tuesday---the crew was stackin' tower. Still gonna be close.

I drove by, and the tower height has been increased though it looks like they're not done. But, there's no FM antenna on the tower. Is November 6 really the date?

My guess is Vic has already arranged for a waiver with Doug Miller at the FCC. I think they (FCC) will let you slide if you're that close to being finished. They will also take in to account the delays caused by the FAA in this particular case.

So according to the radio-locator site, the WAMJ database shows an updated expiration date of November 23, 2011 for the CP. WHTA still shows November 6th, however. From what I understood, the WAMJ transmitter relocation will affect WHTA as well.

I drove by at lunchtime today, and it looks like they've finished increasing the tower height. The antenna hasn't yet been mounted. One of those rough-looking tower guys was on the grounds.

That's correct.

Don't forget WTSH as well. They're looking to up to 100k (and change city of license from Rockmart to Aragon) contingent on the WAMJ move.

IIRC if your CP is allowed only after another station builds it's CP then unless the other station's CP is canceled, their delays are "automatically" added to your CP. This was true for the 100.1 move in for Lexington KY. market. in the mid 1990's. That was an interesting deal which included building a new tower and site for the Carrollton KY WIKI. IIRC there was a default of debt payment issue at one of the stations in the Lexington market that added years to this deal.

I've checked for any change in signal quality at 107.5 over the past two weeks. I'm still checking.

Sorry for changing the subject, but do you know when WCLK will move to the Richland tower? I have a preset on my radio waiting for the move.

I have made several trips to the 316 expansion project and taken some pictures of the antenna progress. They are on my twitter feed @w4hga. They were working Saturday when I passed around 10a. I could see the tag line was rigged for work and something was going up the tower. I think I saw 4 bays up and room for 2 more.

I was impressed with all the progress on that side of town. The new lanes on 316 and the recent improvements at its junction with 85 should make access to the FM towers on that side of town easier.
