When will Carrie go completely pop/rock?

Country music needs to take it's title back and have somewhere and or someone start promoting real country music again before it is so watered down that it is lost forever.

George Jones said that exact same thing last summer, and specifically mentioned Carrie as the artist he was thinking of when he said it. Yet a couple months ago, when both George and Carrie were together in the exact same room, a reporter asked George about that quote, and he apologized for making it, and said he felt Carrie was a wonderful singer and he respected her music.

Country music can't take its title back. Who would do it? The CMA? George Jones? Come on! Country music and ALL of music belongs to the people, not a small group of musical purists who want to exclude others because of their own personal taste. Learn to live with other people and other forms of music.

George Jones had nothing to apologize for. He should respect Carrie's talent, but not what she's doing to so-called country music. I suppose she's such a nice person he didn't want to insult her with her in the room, but that's just spin. The man is right and we ought to have music we can listen to.

You do. He just released a new album a few weeks ago. You ought to buy it and support the artists you respect, rather than try to hear it for free on the radio. The stars you love need your support.

What you're saying is I need to buy a bunch of these CDs (and a CD player for home and for the car) and carry them everywhere I go. It would have to be a lot of them since I tried this a few years ago and found I got tired of the same few songs. Plus I would want to mix them up, not listen to the same artist all the time.

I don't really have the money to do that. I didn't really have the money for a new computer, a sort of new car, and the upgrade to digital TV which for me involved very basic cable. So now I REALLY don't have the money. In the car, though, I'm happy with my country radio station. Until interference from other stations messes it up. They seem to have a lot of commercials, so maybe they won't change. And between here and the mountains that one week in the summer, I'm okay during the day.
