When Will CC Take Over KQJK-93.7?

Does anyone know when Clear Channel will take over KQJK-93.7? According to their website, it is still under the ownership of CBS Radio. So it seems they won't take over via an immediate LMA.

We hear it will be sometime in March, if not the end of March.

Thanks jv! With Clear Channel's money woes, I expect them to keep the Adult Hits format but for some reason, I think CC will drop the "JACK" name as CC would have to continue paying for the use of the Jack name. Plus I don't think CC has any Jack stations in its stable? I see them keeping the Adult Hits format but changing its name to BOB or FRED or JEFF or JIM or JOE or BEN or DAVE or BILL or.........................

".....BILL OR GEORGE!! ANY NAME BUT SUE!!"

er,
'scuze me, MadManSam...Johnny Cash's "Boy Named Sue" leapt outta me!
--mad man jay
;D

Jack has employees? ;)

hehe I don't work there and don't know for sure, but my guess is the stations maintenance etc is done by existing people in that whole cluster...that it doesn't have specific "employees"

Actually, they do have employees, though as of late, some of them are multitasking. Nevertheless, I'm curious if CBS will keep them or if CC will care to inherit them.

Have we gotten any definitive word that the sale even included the station's intellectual property? They may have just bought the stick, with CBS moving the Jack prgramming/brand over to, say, KSFM, so Bonneville will be more receptive to buying the cluster (Bonneville doesn't want it as a rhythmic/hip-hop station). Just a hunch..... ;D

KSFM brings them money.

KSFM brings them money.

Not as much money as selling off the cluster would.

That's very true. In the meanwhile, they don't need to change KSFM's format in order to make the cluster attractive to Bonneville. Any new owner could change the format after they buy it. That's what they did Bonneville did here in LA.

What about CC simulcasting KFBK on the new 93.7, like KCBS is now simulcasting in Bay Area on 106.9?

from what i hear, they'll keep the format the way it is, likely with a different brand-name.

When CBS sold KFJK in Fresno to PEAK Broadcasting they kelp the JACK name. There are other NON CBS stations that are JACK,They did start the name though, but their not putting any restrictions on the use of the name.

Is this when CC makes the switch with KOSO 93.1 to 92.9 and starts 93.1 in Sacramento.
