When Will Mix 104.1 Acknowlege that they still play some 80's music?

Bon Jovi,Madonna, U2, etc. They make announcements before playing these songs that the 90's are in the mix, but the songs that they play by them are 80's tunes. When will they acknowledge that they are still competing with Magic 106.7 and that they occasionally delve into the 80's?

Nobody cares when the songs are from so long as they fit the station's sound. Mix chooses to position itself as a station that plays music of the '90s as well as more recent hits. If a few earlier hits by artists whose popularity continued into the '90s are tossed into the playlist, don't call attention to the fact that they're old. Classic hits WDRC-FM Hartford uses the positioner "the biggest hits of the '70s, '80s and even the '90s," but it plays a '60s song every two hours -- Beatles, Stones, Motown, Aretha, etc. -- because they fit the station's overall sound. If the liners started mentioning the '60s, though, DRC would risk losing some of the younger listeners it's picked up and becoming "my mom's -- or grandmother's -- favorite station" again.

So its ok for a radio station to say "The 90's are in the Mix" while they rip into an 80's tune? I think that eve the listeners are smarter than that and know that Bon Jovi's "You Give Love A Bad Name" is clearly a mid to late 80's song. Not to mention the ever so popular and well over played on almost all stations "Living On A Prayer."

the same way 96.1 repeatedly states in promos and from the deejays themselves they are 80's through today, when 20% of their songs are from the 70's. It's really false advertising.
