When will Radio one ever.....

It would of made some sence if they would also put La Mera Mera back on hd2 or hd 3.

It would make more sense to put classic Hip-Hop on KBXX HD2, R&B oldies/Urban Oldies/Soul at KMJQ HD2, and as for KROI, Regional Mexican would make no sense what so ever. I would say more of a Traditional Jazz/Blues station made more sense.

Because they proved amply that they are not able to do Spanis language radio. If you look at LA, you wonder what kind of radio they are able to do... but that is a sidebar.

The PD of Mera Mera was so restricted and got so little support there was no way to win; the same PD has produced the two best months for KLVE in LA since 1996... and a solid #1 rating. So if it was not the PD, it must be the company... they should stick to the formats they are, occasionally, good at.
 
David is right. Radio One needs to stick to what they know. The Spanish formats are covered nicely by Univision, Liberman, and Clear Channel. I wouldn't mind hearing Urban Oldies, Blues, or Neo Soul (new R&B without the Rap/Hip-Hop) on some of their HD carriers. La Mera Mera was a travesty. KROI is doing much better now.
 
I'd go for Blues on any channel, HD or otherwise. Like Sirius 74 ("Bluesville") only not much before the 1960's. A 24-hour offering along the lines of KCOH's nighttime programmimg on HD would be nice, too.

Just because...................All of the above. Radio One should stick with what they know best. Spanish programming is not their thing. Besides, any type of Spanish language programming on any of their HD2 channels would not compliment their main channel. You can probably make an argument for KBXX having some type of Hurban (yeah, like that'll happen)format, but it's Radio One, "It ain't gonna happen'"
