When Will Tampa Get A K-Love Station?

Why does Tampa need EMF there?
The answer is in the ratings link you posted in your other thread.
Just like Orlando doesn't need EMF, there are live and local stations (although the Joy FM there could be considered semi local for they originate in Tampa) that have good ratings although 1 of them doesn't subscribe.

The Orlando station does not even encode. So it shows up in surrounding diary markets, but not in Orlando!

I have always thought that the management there does a very great disservice to the radio industry by not encoding. They reduce the PUR in the market so that it looks like a "bad radio market" to advertisers. They could easily encode but not enhance the encoding and be part of the industry.

Just as soon as KLove "digests" the Salem purchase financially they will continue to buy stations in areas they don't have coverage. From what I understand, they buy signals on a number of people in the 60 db coverage formula. If there is another wave of mergers and signal becomes a victim of market caps, EMF most likely will have cash to pay for the stations they acquire. They did take a note for Salem's Fish stations but they still have plenty of cash even paying for the Fish stations.
