When will The Coyote come to an END?

I think its only a matter of time before cheap channel pulls the automated plug on The Coyote and moves FYI to 95-5. Watch and see

Or they could put it on a second HD channel.

I don't understand

CC has 5 FMs. One does very well with the under 34s. Another does OK 18-49. Another does well with adult women, and has been doing really well at Christmas. The station in question does well in the money demo, and costs comparatively little to operate. The fifth is a country station, a format which has languished in this market over the last several years, but nonetheless holds a fair adult audience.

And then, we have KFYI, which has been doing well, period. I'm not sure what advantage would be gained by moving Rush and Sean to FM, at the expense of effectively killing off one of your FM shares. If an FM move had to be made, KYOT wouldn't be my choice. ???

The sacrificial lamb should be KISS, with MIX moving to 104.7. That opens 96.9 for KFYI-FM. KEZ, KNIX and COYOTE are all given a pass. Why wait for the Men In Secret Underwear to get to FM first with KT'R, do it this Labor Day Weekend and have them cursing Dr Akbar 'n Nurse Jeff for the month of September!

Silly boy, "the men in secret underwear" don't cuss. You need to bone up more on that!! ;D

..darn...drat...sheez..golly gee..horse feathers...fudge.. and those are the one's we CAN print! If the CCU Suits put KFYI on FM this weekend, we're certain the Men In Secret Underwear will be using the one's we CAN'T print! The Valley's FM Talk Station..96~Nine KFY~Eye.

Making KISS the sacrificial lamb is completely forgetting that Power is about to move to a signal that has much less effective coverage of the Valley. Bad idea.

Allow the Middle Eastern Men of The Media to splain theyselves! When you consider the demographics and lifestyles of MIX, COYOTE, KEZ, KNIX & KISS, which one is out of place? Even the Emmis Braintrust finally realized a Hip Hop and Country station in L.A. didn't make much sense. If Power 92 was so good, how come only a rimshot was interested in taking the "intellectual property" of baggie pants, tattoos, pit-bulls, drive-bys and low-lifestyles? Pucker Up and blow off KISS...move MIX to 104~Seven and KFYI, the Valley's FM Talk Station, pre-empts TMISU at 96~Nine!

Not that I agree with your theory, but explain to me why CC would bother moving the Hot AC format to a new freq, causing confusion to all of the 34 year old women in their Hondas. Why not just leave Mix on 96.9 and put FYI directly on 104.7?

Smack in the middle of the adult stations on FM. From K~Jazz to K~EZ, KFY~EYE will be in the center of sampling at 96~Nine..the Valley's FM Talk Station. Take that, MISU!

I would be very curious to see if any of this actually comes to fruition. I can easily see KTAR catching and beating KFYI into a pulp, as another poster put it on a different post "conservative ain't cool anymore". I know for a fact that a ton of cc employees are up for contract renewals so if there are going to be any frequency changes the ones not getting renewed will be a tell-tale sign . . . ???

you'd think barry young would wan't to be affiliated with bonnint ???

barry & terry, 1-4, 92.3

The difference between Bonneville and Clear Channel is that Bonneville doesn't have shareholders to answer to. Shareholders would question dropping an existing format to move KFYI. Bonneville only has to answer to God.

But God wants an explantion for what the Men In Secret Underwear did to Sunny 97, soon to KMVP and why 6~twenty is being turned into a sports parking lot! The Nurse and I hear she's pissed.

KTAR loses news credibility when people tune in for breaking news, or even for traffic, and there's a game on. When listeners get used to the fact that KTAR FM can change their programming to reflect local news, etc. and KFYI is squeezing their news into 6 minutes at the top and bottom, they will make the obvious choice when they are looking for news. Sure, it won't always be all-news, but KTAR's talk (which obviously needs a lot of work) will adapt to be relevant. KFYI will "cover" the big local story for 3-6 minutes, and then go back to Rush and Hannity.

"KTAR Sports" gains visibility and exposure because of the Diamondbacks, Cardinals, Suns and (to a lesser extent) ASU, Mercury, Rattlers, etc. Between people tuning in for those games, and the TV/stadium/arena/remote exposure, that's a huge potential audience. Lose the teams, lose that visibility. Try putting Diamondbacks, Suns or Cardinals on a crappy FM or any AM other than 620 and see how quickly they squeeze their way out of the contracts.

Call it a sports parking lot if you want, but it's a parking lot that keeps the visibility and potential audience growth, and gets rid of the one problem facing both news stations: the inability to effectively cover breaking news during a) syndicated shows (KFYI) and b) live play-by-play (KTAR).

As long as they improve their talk offerings, KTAR has the potential to make KFYI irrelevant. Think about it. If God didn't love KTAR, would she let them use his name for Pat's weekend show?

By the way, I listened to McBland today, evidently Steve Benson came on and trashed the hell out of the LDS and Warren Jeffs.

Pat was in overdrive saying nice things about the men in secret underware, almost every word out of his mouth was a disclaimer.

Pat knows who signs his checks, it was worse than him grovelling for a free dinner at a Fleming's fine resturant.

LOL

Warren Jeffs has nothing to do with the real LDS church...its good thing there are some disclaimers. Lets not have a bunch of former LDS crybabies just spout out anything without some sort of opposite view.

I know he doesn't, but listening to Bland was pretty funny today, as he knows where the money flows. ;D

Perhaps the self-appointed, enlightened audience of KT'R should realize that the FLDS and LDS, parent organization of Bonneville, are completely different organizations who resent each other.

Pfft

The same six people who have uses the same six jokes for the last six years about KTAR will never change.

Notice the pattern?

6-6-6, and I'm not talking about the old number for the road from Springerville to Clifton.
