When Will TLC Change their Name?

I think The Learning Channel need to change its name because they no longer have programs that resemble National Geographic documentaries, Travel Channel shows, Science Channel presentations , History Channel Documentaries, Animal Planet Documentaries and Discovery. TLC is basically doing "The Real World with Little Kids" ala "Jon and Kate"
Or the Heene's. All TLC did for the past 6 years is make Jon and Kate Gosselin the New Paris Hilton and Spears.
 
A name change would be pointless. They're branded as TLC, and its highly unlikely most viewers are even aware it stood for "the Learning Channel" at one point. Why give up an establish brand?

Plus, since TLC has a second, more appropriate meaning it makes any change even less important. Most of their shows focus on children and families and issues of identification, so TLC actually works quite well.
 
Personally, TLC will change their name only after MTV, CMT and AMC change theirs. In these cases, the acronym no longer represents what they stand for, yet they are still rather strong brands for cable channels.

How About Calling it The Life Channel is that good so they can keep the TLC call Letters. Back in the 1990's when I was 5 years old this had shows that would even rival PBS's Nova and Nature. This is like MTV and VH1 they were known for music video's in the 1990's before they became a 24-hour reality network. Simply because Youtube took all the music video's out of MTV and VH1.

AMC could be changed into the American Movie Channel. Back in the 1990's it was American Movie Classics thats another possibility. MTV and CMT. MTV should be the Viacom Urban and suburban reality Channel and CMT the country Reality Channel.
 
OK: I've always called MTV Moron Television so they will never need a name change.

CMT - well I guess that'll have to be Country Moron Television.

AMC - All My Commercials.

Enough.

The History Channel should be ANATT TV. All Nostadamas All The Time.
 
Tru-TV can become CCTV, either standing for Car Chase TV or Court Case TV...unless CCTV is being used in China?

Sure a far cry from the days when they were known as "The Hitler Channel," huh?
 
Look TLC once competed against Nat Geo and History but not they compete against E and MTV. Look at A&E they used to do BBC style shows before it competed against TNT and TruTV. HLN should change their Name to Tabloid TV since they do tabloid style shows.
 
They could be the Terribly Lucky Channel, and show bios of undeserving celebrities, lottery winners, and videos of people who, for example, wrecked or fell out of planes and lived.
