When will WLS AM/FM be on iHeartRadio? Better Audio?

When is it going to happen?

Would Clear Channel be willing to make that deal with Cumulus?

They already did. The Cumulus stations will be on IHR by early next year.

I hope the Cumulus stations get better audio. Clear Channel streams sound incredible at pretty low bitrates. I think they use AAC+ at 64k, but I could be wrong. Cumulus uses 48k for their FMs, and I've heard better 48k streams (I don't listen to their AMs so I'm not sure what they stream at).

I wouldn't be in such a hurry for this. In fact, someday you'll look back upon that original post with a little embarrassment.

IHeartRadio is a very clumsy app. For one thing, it's CONSTANTLY asking to sync with my Facebook account - whether I have one or not. Every single move I make, it requests this. No way to get out of that. Very, very annoying. And the audio isn't all that great either. Probably a little better than WLS' present set up, but I don't think that selling their soles to the devil is worth it.

It likely also means that WLS AM/FM will be yanked off of aggregators, such as Tune In Radio. And, don't be surprised if Clear Channel someday starts charging you for some streams on IHR. It's already set up that they could do this.

So, it's a lose-lose. Whenever the creeps at Cumulus meet up with the creeps at Clear Channel, you know that Average Joe Listener will be the ultimate loser.

It sounds great, and is on practically no delay. I've listened to some of our local stations and WLW at the same time as on IHR and a couple times they've only been 2-3 seconds apart.
