When will WSLA 1560 (Slidell) be back??

First off, glad to be back. I have been away for a while focusing on repairs and all. Some flood to the home, but I'm thankful it wasn't like it was elsewhere. Things are coming along as best as they can.

Any of you all have any inside info as to when WSLA will be back? I know they're in Slidell, and am not sure where exactly they are. But I guess with them being off air this long, they must have been devastated by that storm surge.

I sure do miss listening to Jon Fine in the morning then Dave Scandaliato in the afternoon. My car has trouble picking up 1210, so I can't listen to Fine at all.

Their tower is located right at the I-10/Old Spanish Trail interchange in Slidell, and their studios are pretty much at the base of the transmitter. Needless to say, they got flooded pretty good.

They're co-located with WYLK (94.7 the Lake), and that station is just broadcasting in mono, with a much worse range than they had pre-Katrina. 94.7 is moving to a new tower pretty soon. However, WSLA's gonna have to fix up their studio and transmitter before they get back on. They're pretty underfunded as it is, though.

I guess you could e-mail Jon Fine and ask him. Maybe he knows when he'll be back on in the New Orleans area.<P ID="signature">______________
