That's what I keep saying. Put two and two together and it makes logical sense that its rumored WPLJ will switch.

Re: Rumored Changes At WPLJ

If WPLJ-95.5 goes oldies (which I'm not convinced that they will), it might not be until after Christmas.

They may first go all-Christmas (maybe as soon as the next day or two--I'm writing this on November 16th), and either go oldies on December 26th, or stunt for several days after that and go oldies on New Year's Eve or January 1st.

BTW, in 12-plus numbers, WPLJ during the first phase of the 2005 Fall Arbitrons had their poorest showing in at least a year.

PLJ is not changing for the 100000th time..stop wasting valuable board space. Yes I said it.

but you're forgetting

that they're about to be sold.

I seriously doubt ABC is holding strategic meetings to mold the future for a station they won't even own six months from now. Think about it.

Well, except it's really that

they could be sold. Bob Iger may or may not accept any of the offers they've been given. Even then, this will be a merger of ABC Radio with the new company and Disney stockholders will end up with 50% of the stock. Because of that and to watch over things from the Disney side, it's likely some of the ABC Radio senior managment would be absorbed into the new structure, since most of the likely merger partners (other than Emmis) have any major market holdings and experience. So, it's very possible that the folks there are planning the future of the station.

not true

They WILL be sold. Not a matter of "if" but when. And that new company would have operating power over any existing Disney stockholders or management.

It would be foolhardy to make any major changes before the sale and they're all big enough boys to know that. Until they know who exactly who's buying them, there is not hard and set format future being discussed for any of these stations.
